The Saga of Governor Culver's Failed I-JOBS Job Numbers

Posted by Paul McKinley on July 28th

DES MOINES - Senate Republican Leader Paul McKinley (R-Chariton) today issued the following comment following Governor Culver’s latest and ever-changing jobs number associated with his failed I-JOBS debt scheme:

“When Governor Culver’s I-JOBS estimates now range from ‘hopefully hundreds if not thousands’ of jobs to over 30,000 and has hit nearly every point in between depending on his political spin of the day, it becomes rather easy for everyday Iowans to become cynical and suspicious.

Senate Republicans offered real plans to stimulate long-term private sector job creation in Iowa instead of spending $1.7 billion to create temporary make work, but Iowans have endured Culver’s legacy of failed leadership, enormous generational debt and unacceptably high unemployment instead.

Iowans are asking ‘where are the long-term private sector jobs?’ and unfortunately Governor Culver still has no answer.”
